Terms of Service

Acceptance

  • By using Captik, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
  • We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

The service

  • Captik transcribes videos and produces styled captions (burned into the video or as SRT files) using third-party speech models, currently Sarvam AI and ElevenLabs.
  • We provide the service "as-is." Transcription accuracy varies with audio quality, accents, and background noise.
  • We are not responsible for errors in the output. Always review your captions before publishing.

Your content

  • You own everything you upload. By uploading, you grant us a temporary license to process the file for transcription.
  • You must have the right to upload the content. Do not upload content that violates copyright, privacy, or the law.
  • We do not claim any ownership over your videos or the SRT files we produce from them.

Plans and billing

  • The free plan includes a limited number of exports. Paid plans lift those limits as described on the pricing page.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. Refunds are issued at our discretion; if an export fails after being charged against your plan, contact us within 7 days.
  • Annual plans are non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.

Prohibited use

  • Do not use Captik to transcribe content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights.
  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate requests to our API without permission.
  • Do not resell access to the service or share account credentials.

Limitation of liability

  • Captik is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
  • Our total liability in any dispute is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days prior to the claim.

Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
  • You may cancel your account at any time. On cancellation, your data is deleted within 30 days.

Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
