How Telugu script looks on screen
Telugu letters are round, and most carry a small tick shaped stroke on top called the talakattu. When consonants join, the second is written as a smaller form below the first, so a Telugu line is both wider and taller than an English one at the same size. Leave room under the line if a template sets two rows close together.
In the width table Captik fits every line with, measured in Chrome on the caption fonts, one Telugu letter takes 1.11 em against 0.59 em for a Latin one. The sample line on this page comes out 1.08 times as wide as the same line in Roman letters.
Noto Sans Telugu is the default. The Text tab also lists 13: Google Sans, Baloo Tammudu 2, Ramabhadra, Akaya Telivigala, Ravi Prakash, Anek Telugu, Hind Guntur, Chathura, NTR, Mandali, Noto Serif Telugu, Suranna, Lakki Reddy.

Worth knowing for Telugu
Tech channels: decide on English words first
Telugu tech talk is full of English nouns. In Roman captions they stay in English; in Native Script they are written the way they sound, which is easier for some viewers and harder for others. Try one video of each before you commit.
Watch the marks under the line
Subscript forms hang lower than the baseline. On a template with a tight box behind each word, check that the box still covers them on your longest line.

Telugu captions, answered
My Telugu videos use English tech words. What happens to them?
It depends on the writing system. With Romanised (Latin), English words stay in English. With Native Script, Captik writes them in Telugu script so the whole caption is in one script.
Can I fix a word Captik heard wrong?
Yes. Tap the word to retype it, or drag its timing. When you correct a single word, Captik remembers the fix on that device and applies it to your later Telugu videos in the same script.
Can I export Telugu captions from my phone?
Yes. Telugu captions render on Captik’s servers, which load Noto Sans Telugu, so the file comes out the same from a phone or a computer.
Does Telugu work in the Premiere Pro, After Effects and Resolve plugin?
Yes. Telugu is on the plugin panel’s language list, with native, Roman and English options.
